What can you see through the skin of the tree?



This work began with a minority culture called “cardistry” which is the homophonic of this word (cardistrycard is tree) my journey started with taking surface texture photos of more than 100 trees from China, Japan and the United Kingdom, rearranging them and screening 52 of them as the back of this playing cards. During the journey, I found that the state of surface texture of trees has a strong story and can be easily associated with people, It also reflects the quality of the surrounding environment well. In some places “disguised” as a good environment, we can see the truth of environmental protection by the skin of the trees. This work also re-focus the natural element of trees and appeals for environmental protection.

In every creative and strange dream, I want to remember them in a special way.








The inspiration of this work comes from a period in my life when I often had some strange and interesting dreams. So I collected these "special" 13 dreams and made 13 works in the form of collage, corresponding to the 13 points of different suits of each card and presented them on the cards.
